Student Of the Month Story

Why -Teachers voted on one student who they thought projected good behavior and had good grades and attendance.

Story on the event:
          The new month of April, Bowie has selected a new student of the month. Never getting this award before, Tyrone Wakins, a sophomore, was nominated to be the newest student of the month. The Bowie High School teachers nominated Tyrone because of his high attendance and good grades.
          This award is given every month to an outstanding student. It not easy to receive student of the month. Tyrone is a straight A student, plays basketball in his free time and is a very talkative, helpful young man. He deserves this award because he is always dedicating his time to school, sports, and his outstanding grades. 
           Getting this award seems really challenging, and seems like all you have to do is work, work and work. 
           " Yes you always need to strive for your best, never slacking off. Keep working your butt off, it will pay in the long run."
             Tyrone was constantly communicating with his teachers to keep his grades up. Tyrone's goal this year was to keep up his grades and maintain a 4.0 average, never knowing he could win this award.
           " I never expected to when this award, I always just tried to do my best in school and work hard, so I can go to a good college. "
           Every month a new student receives this award. Students are completely oblivious about the way to win. 
           "Yes very true, I had absolutely no idea that I was ineligible to win the award. For students trying to when this award I would advise that you keep up good grades, constantly communicate to your teachers in and outside of class."
          To be nominated for this award your teacher has to vote for you. Most students are very surprised when they when this award.
          " I was very surprised that I got this award. I was very please with my grades, but I never thought that my teachers would choose me to be the student of the month."
           To win this award Tyrone had to do a lot of work. Constantly taking the time out of his day to get better and take time out of seeing your family.
          " Although Im constantly doing work to get good grades, my parents are very supportive and help me learn basic life skills that school teachers don't teach. My parents were very proud when I won this award, because this could help me get into a good school."
          Many students at Bowie High School set goals to achieve for the year. You hear that many students try to get good grades. There has been no student yet to have other goals, especially student of the month.
         " This was not my goal this year, my goal was to raise my grades like most students. Like I said before I never expected to win Student Of The Month."   
          The average GPA for a student is 3.6, many students try to raise there grades. Tyrone's GPA is a 4.5.
         " I have decided that high school is the only way i can have a good life in the future. I noticed if I make good grades all four years of high school, I can get into a better college. I want to go to the University of Texas, which I have heard is very hard to get into.
          " So I suggest that all student to become the best they can be, and make the best grades possible. If you do you can get into a good college and have a good future ahead of you."
          This being his first time receiving an award from the school about grades, he was very surprised. 
           " My family and I were very surprised that I won this award. It is an accomplish and more people should try to aim for it."
           His friends were just as happy for him as his family was, and a little bit jealous.
           " My friends are very happy that i won this award, they told me that the thought of me winner will cause them to do better in school."
